Randall's Page

Randall and his bear

About Randall

Randall joined our family unexpectedly in May 1986. We had just moved into an apartment for the summer after graduating from Washington University. It was a room 2 bedroom, extraordinarly hot, un-air conditioned, roach infested place that we called home for 3 long, hot months. Our first night in the apartment we returned home late with pizza for dinner and Randall walked up to us in the middle of the street, fell down and rolled on his back for attention. We took him in and fed him some dry cat food as well as a can of tuna and he became a permanent member of the family. He and Oliver quickly became great friends although Trixie hated him right away. (This was Trixie's approach to all of our cats over the years except for her big brother Ed, little brother Oliver and her favorite, Delylah).

The site is slowly being expanded as we find more pictures and have time to write a bit about each of them.

Randall and Lucky as a baby

Randall and Baby LuckyThis picture is taken when we were back in St. Louis in 1988-1989. Lucky is probably just 1 or 2 months old here and still has some stripes on her tail. Randall was tolerant of the kittens when they were young, but would put them in their place if they got unruly with him. He was our alpha cat so once they grew up they left him alone. The one cat he loved the most was his brother Oliver who was really the only one he would play with. He mostly wanted affection from us and would sleep on the bed every night.
